The Eye Has to Travel

Geeking out on a Sunday re-watching the fashion documentary that captures life talks of the legendary, Diana Vreeland & how her being has made a mark in the industry. To describe who she is, I’m just gonna say that she’s the Walt Disney of fashion no matter how childlike that sounds. A visionary. A creative. She created a movement in fashion, and cultivated her life by her own ideas. She says that, when you’re young, you should be a lot with yourself and your sufferings. Then one day you get out where the sun shines, and the rain rains, and the snow snows, and it all comes together. Hoping that our life comes all together & finding where we fit in the world. I think we can all relate to that, no? The inspiring thing about her story is that she took the autonomy to live the life she wanted and instead of trying to fit some mold, she designed it herself.

“There’s only one very good life and that’s the life you know you want and make it for yourself.” DV

Now that I’m older, through curiosity, I’ve gained a new perspective and appreciation for fashion. Fashion is more about the clothes. It’s culture, it’s individuality, it’s aesthetics, it’s business, it’s revolving, it’s ART. Fashion speaks art & because of greats like DV, I’ve come to realize that even more.
